Poster Child for Question 1

Dianne Wilkerson, State Senator, (D)

Dianne Wilkerson, State Senator (D)

The photo shows Dianne Wilkerson taking bribe money. Recently she was arrested by the FBI on corruption charges. Those opposed to Question 1, the elimination of the Massachusetts state income tax, argue that the ballot question goes too far; voters should go through their legislators for spending reform.  With legislators like these (especially ones like Wilkerson who failed to pay taxes in the past), can voters expect reform on Beacon Hill? Governor Deval Patrick called Question 1 a “dumb idea.” Who recorded a robo-call in support of Wilkerson for this year’s Democrat state primary? Deval Patrick.

Vote YES on Question 1.

Shut the Faucet II

September 27, 2008 · Leave a Comment

From the New Bedford Standard Times, September 25, 2008, Group Rallies Against Ballot Question 1

More than 30 community activists, public employees and other citizens took turns giving 60-second sound bites on how elimination of the income tax would affect them or their organizations.

Note the words: COMMUNITY ACTIVISTS, PUBLIC EMPLOYEES

True story: I remember when Dartmouth’s (MA) police chief retired. He received a very healthy retirement package. The town hired another police chief. He retired less than FIVE YEARS LATER with a very healthy retirement package. I need to work at least 20 years in my current job to receive my retirement package.

Don’t let public employees scare you with NO POLICE! NO FIREMEN! NO ROADS! Question 1 is about ending ABUSES. Simply put.

Vote YES on Question 1.

Shut the Faucet

Drip...Drip...

Drip...Drip...Drip...

Recently I apologized to Hubby because I left the kitchen faucet running. It wasn’t gushing but there was a steady drip, drip, drip. It needed a good, strong twist. Massachusetts state government also needs a good, strong twist to stop wasteful spending. The November ballot will include Question 1, the elimination of the state income tax. Voting “YES” is the twist.

I’ll be attending the October 4th Question 1 Rally at Faneuil Hall, Boston. I have never attended a political rally before, so I’m rather excited to attend this one. If you’re a MA resident who voluntarily checks off the higher income tax rate on your state forms (and less than 3% of you do), this event isn’t for you. But if you are sick of the weekly news items of Beacon Hill’s pork barrel spending, come to the Cradle of Liberty on October 4. Doors open at 12 pm. See you there! (And vote YES on Question 1.)
